The University of Detroit Mercy is the US’s most prominent institution, founded in 1877. It provides over a hundred academic degrees and courses in clinical psychology, business, dentistry, education, law, engineering, architecture, nursing, and allied health.

Application Type

  • Freshman: senior in high school or never went to college after high school.
  • Transfer: formerly enrolled in a 2- or 4-year university and seeking a second bachelor’s degree.
  • Graduate: own a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a master’s or higher degree.
  • High School Dual Enrolled: Seniors and juniors currently enrolled in high school concurrently enrolled at Detroit Mercy.
  • Readmission: wanted to enroll in Detroit Mercy again at the same level as before. Notes on readmits:
    -You cannot be readmitted if you received your Bachelor’s degree from Detroit Mercy and wish to pursue a graduate degree there.
    -Students returning fewer than two years after the semester in which they were last enrolled do not require to submit a readmission application. Call the Office of the Registrar directly at 313-993-3313 instead.

Benefits

  • The admissions office at Detroit Mercy awards a scholarship to first-year students who attend full-time. Up to $10,000 in awards are awarded each academic year, equally divided between the autumn and winter quarters. Although renewable, these scholarships cannot be used with other university grants or discounts.
  • A Detroit Mercy grant is given through the admissions office to transfer students from a recognized college or university in the United States or Canada who enroll full-time at the institution. Each academic year, awards between $1,000 and $9,000 might be given out, equally divided between the autumn and winter quarters. These funds can only be used with other university discounts or awards if they are renewable.

Eligibility

  • All nationalities of applicants may apply.
  • Pursuing courses for a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Students must engage in a university undergraduate degree program.

Documents Requirements

  • You could be required to provide copies of your passport, bank statement, and statement of financial assistance to the university.
  • In addition to meeting the university’s standard entrance requirements, applicants must possess a prior degree certificate.
  • For admission, applicants must present documentation of their English language skills.

The timeframe for this scholarship is as follows:

  • March 30, 2023 for Spring/Summer Term
  • November 15, 2023 for Winter Term
  • July 1, 2023 for Fall Term
