The Youth of Excellence Scheme of China, or YES China, is a full scholarship program run by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The program’s objective is to give exceptional talent from around the world access to education by recognizing their shared global vision, exceptional leadership potential, and cross-cultural competency.
One of the top universities with government designation that offers full-time postgraduate programs is Zhejiang University. For the 2024 academic year, ZJU offers a Master’s scholarship that is funded by the government.

Note: The “1+1” mode is a joint program that necessitates students to complete full-time coursework, research, and thesis writing preparation at Zhejiang University during their first year of study. After completing their thesis writing based on their professional experience, students must return home and pass their thesis defense by the end of their second academic year.

Eligibilities:
In order to apply for the YES China Program, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- All nationalities who are not Chinese citizens are eligible to apply.
- Maintain excellent health.
- Meet the age requirement (below 45 years old) for the Chinese Government Scholarship _YES China.
- Give the prerequisites for a bachelor’s degree.
- At least three years of work experience with the necessary background in the workforce must be proven.
- Be senior government officials, college and university administrative staff, senior management personnel of organizations and businesses, or individuals with international organization work experience or internships.

Documents Requirement:
- A passport photocopy.
- The highest certifications for degrees.
- Academic transcripts.
- Certificates of language proficiency.
- A proof of employment or work experience certificate.
- Personal statement.
- Two recommendation letters from associate or full professors. (The letter must have the professor’s signature, phone number, and email address.)
- A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The exam results are good for six months.
- A six-month certificate of non-criminal record keeping.
