Opportunity Description
The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) manages a number of non-binding PhD and Master’s level scholarships provided by the Royal Thai Government (RTG) to qualified candidates from Thailand and other Asian countries. The scholarships enable students from all over Asia to study and conduct research together in a truly international environment at AIT, laying the groundwork for greater international understanding among Asians.

His Majesty the King’s Scholarships for PhD Programs:
This scholarship is awarded to qualified candidates from the following priority countries with excellent undergraduate (Bachelor degree) and graduate (Master degree) achievements to pursue their Doctoral programs in any Academic Program offered at the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD).
Duration: 41 months (7 semesters)

- Living expenses bursary in AIT’s residential campus for the duration of Ph.D. programs
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students from Bhutan, Timor-Leste, ASEAN, and other Asian countries are eligible to apply.
- Have an outstanding educational record in a 4-year Bachelor Program and a 2-year Master’s Program in related fields from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree GPA ≥ 3.5
- AIT requires you to be fluent in English (IELTS 6.0 (Overall and Writing bands) or AIT EET 6.0).

King’s Scholarship for Master’s Program:
Applicants with an excellent bachelor’s degree from an Asian country are eligible to apply for this scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in one of the programs offered at the following schools:
- School of Engineering and Technology (SET)
- School of Management (SOM)
Her Majesty the Queen’s Scholarships for Master’s Program:
Applicants with an excellent bachelor’s degree from an Asian country are eligible to apply for this scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in one of the programs offered at the following school:
- Environment, Resources, and Development School (SERD)
Loom Nam Khong Pijai (GMS Scholarships) for Master’s Programs:
The Royal Thai Government awards the Loom Nam Khong Pijai Scholarships in honor of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The goal is to support human resource development in six GMS countries, namely Cambodia, the southern part of China (Yunnan and Guangxi provinces), Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand, through any academic program related to the four thematic areas listed below:
- Infrastructure Development
- Energy Technology
- Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Development, and
- Environmental Engineering and Management.
The scholarship allows students from all countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region to study and conduct research together in a truly international environment at AIT, laying a solid foundation for international understanding among Asians.
Duration: 22 months
Eligibility Criteria:
- Have an outstanding educational record in a 4-year Bachelor Program in related fields from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree GPA ≥ 3.5
