Opportunity Description
The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) for international Ph.D. applicants in Singapore now accepts applications. SINGA is an award for international students with excellent previous academic achievements in undergraduate or master’s studies. Also, applicants should demonstrate a solid interest in doing research leading to a Ph.D. (doctorate) in Science and Engineering at a Singapore University. Furthermore, they will establish global links and advance their research career.
SINGA adopts a culturally diverse and vibrant research community of international students. Participants will work in a multicultural environment with distinguished and world-prominent researchers in state-of-the-art facilities.
The SINGA is a joint initiative and funding by the A*STAR (Agency for Science Technology and Research) in collaboration with the NTU-Nanyang Technological University), the Singapore University of Technology and Design-SUTD, and the National University of Singapore-NUS.

SINGA Benefits and Coverage
Singapore International Graduate Award covers the following items during the full period (4 Years) of Ph.D. studies through research:
- Full tuition fees
- After passing the Qualifying Examination, S$ 2,200 monthly allowance will increase to S$ 2,700.
- S$ 1,500 for one-time airfare
- S$ 1,000 for a one-time settling allowance

Who is Qualified for SINGA?
Applicants who meet the following requirements can apply for the 2023 Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA):
- All international graduates with a research passion and surpassing academic result
- English skills (Good spoken and written)
- Good academic referees’ report
- Other requirements (may be included by the organizer “if required”)
Application Required Documents
All candidates should prepare the following required documents in advance for their application package:
- Valid passport
- Passport-size photo (.jpeg, .png format)
- Academic transcripts and reports in English.
- Bachelor’s and master’s degree transcripts and diplomas or certificates- If the certification has not been awarded yet.
- Two recommendation letters from referees to submit online
- Applicants applying to NUS supervisors or projects must include their GRE scores in their SINGA application form.
Notes:
- For all other applicants, the institution may request that the applicants should submit appropriate GRE scores as part of the university admission criteria.
- The submission of IELTS, TOEFL, SAT I & II, or GATE results is optional, and the university may ask the applicant for admission in later steps.
