Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is one of the largest medical organizations in the world. The charity employs more than 36,000 volunteers from almost 60 countries. One of the branches of this institution in Afghanistan and different provinces of this country, including the capital Kabul, is providing medical services. Last year, during the fall of Kunduz to the Taliban, an MSF medical center was bombed by American fighters, prompting international condemnation. The nonprofit provides emergency medical care in war zones, during pandemics and in times of natural disasters, and is a self-governing group of 24 associations around the world based in Switzerland.
Doctors Without Borders in Afghanistan continues to operate alongside the capital, Afghanistan, in a number of provinces, including Khost,Kundoz and Helmand. These hospitals also provide health services in the emergency care wards, neonatal care, medical equipment, spices and human resources.
