About General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports
The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, as a budget unit of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is responsible for leadership, cohesion, growth, development and development of sports in accordance with Article 52 of the Constitution.
The second unit of the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports operates in 33 provinces of Afghanistan under the leadership of this department, which is responsible for the leadership, cohesion and development of sports in the provinces.
After joining the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Afghanistan has participated in all courses, with the exception of those not held on a global basis. Afghanistan also became a member of the Asian Olympic Council in 1951 and participated in all of the Games.
