Enabled Children Initiative is an independent non-profit registered in the US as a 501 c3, with a branch in Afghanistan. ECI supports orphaned and abandoned children with disabilities, and those at risk of being abandoned, in Afghanistan. We work to improve the children’s quality of life and help them reach their full potential.
ECI currently runs a small, in-home school at Window of Hope private care home for the 25 children residing there, but it is not open to the public and only currently serves those children residing at Window of Hope. ECI is now expanding its school’s capacity and opening it to children with disabilities from the public who reside in Kabul. This will help meet the educational needs of children with disabilities in Kabul. The school will initially be expanded to accept approximately 20 to 25 additional students. The school is named in memory of Fatima Khalil.
