About Afghanistan Independent Bar Association (AIBA)
The Afghanistan Independent Bar Association (AIBA) is a statutory body, created pursuant to the Advocates Law, that license and also regulates the defense advocate profession in Afghanistan. The AIBA was created in 2008 and so far it has continuously provided services to its members and to the public such as: advocate licensing and discipline, pro bono assistance for indigent accused and legal trainings.
The AIBA head office is located in Kabul. It has regional offices in Kunduz-Mazar-e-Sharif-Herat-Jalalabad and Kandahar provinces.
Currently Afghanistan Independent Bar Association has approximately 4500 members. It expects to grow its membership to more than 5000 by the end of 2020 and with it the demand from its members for quality continuing legal education
