About Afghans Coordination Against Corruption (AFCAC):
The updated Transparency International’s annual Corruption Perceptions Index ranks Afghanistan as the 4th most corrupt country in the world, trailing only Syria, South Sudan, and Somalia. Despite, the billion dollars of international aid in the last 17 years, Afghanistan is still in crisis. The insurgency is increasing day by day; the security situation has worsened than at any time before, and the economy is experiencing its most sustained downturn since 2001, with unemployment reaching highs of 40%. The service delivery is poor and the distance between the people and government is growing, which will result in weakening the newborn democracy. Against this background, Afghans are subjected to a government widely seen as corrupt, with administrative graft a daily blight on their lives. In Afghanistan, insecurity, unemployment, and corruption are the top listed problems. But corruption is also seen as fueling insecurity, by undermining support for the government and driving citizens towards the Taliban.
