Job Description:

  • Conduct training needs assessments and recognizes the most needed vocational training for children in the form of the apprenticeship program.
  • Survey the market to find potential vocational shops in the market to introduce children to apprenticeship programs to learn the vocational skill.
  • Developing a curriculum for each skill separately with the assistance of master trainers.
  • Introduction of children as apprentices for vocational shops to learn vocational skills and signing contracts with both apprentices and master trainers for the apprenticeship program.
  • Ensure all vocational skills are well planned and have clear manuals delineating objectives, lessons, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all training organized by the training provider has clear objectives and budgets and that all procedures are followed appropriately.
  • Distribute monthly attendance sheets for shops/vocational shops and collect the attendance sheet at the end of each month. Based on the attendance record disburse the monthly stipend of both master trainers and apprentices.
  • Monitor the progression of training within the shops and provide feedback for the apprentices and master trainers for the provision of quality training.
  • Liaise with key team members to ensure training on key topics is taking place according to the curriculum and targets set for the programmer.
  • Ensure all vocational skill-building takes place in a safe environment and make sure the availability of needed material for vocational skills activities within vocational shops.
  • Document all training activities and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide cash support to the selected most vulnerable children by the social workers after the final approval by the committee.
  • Developing business plans for children who are interned for business start-ups.
  • Follow up on business activities and provide them consultation for their business development.
  • Monitor the Income generation activities of children in the field and maintain records for the income generation activity of target beneficiaries.
  • Work closely with case managers and psychosocial officers to ensure follow-on monitoring after training material.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business is an added advantage
  • At least two years of experience in a related field.
  • Fluency in local languages and good English communication skill is required.
  • Computer literate (MS Office suite)
  • Report-writing skills.
  • Keen interest and enthusiasm in working for and with children.
  • Willingness to move and monitor activities in the different villages/districts.
