Job Description:

Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the Social organizer will implement the project at the community level. She/he will closely work with field staff and project beneficiaries in one district of Daikundi province. Impart regular visits to beneficiaries in the field, conduct community mobilization, selection beneficiaries, conduct beneficiaries profile survey and distribution agriculture inputs to vulnerable households. She/he will also provide support to the agriculturist and project coordinator in compiling weekly, monthly and quarterly Progress Reports.

Job Requirements:


Under the direct technical supervision of project coordinator, you will be accomplishing the following key responsibilities:

  • With the assistance of senior project officer, the social organizer will develop daily and monthly work plan.
  • He/she will identify community potential agriculture land based on the FAO criteria given.
  • Facilitation on selection of beneficiary process based on FAO criteria.
  • He/she will conduct regularly visits to district programme site at 90 % time to field to observe and assess the performance of target beneficiaries’ and provide to them project information.
  • He/she will closely work with relevant project field staff and target beneficiaries to implement the project activities and will send monthly progress report against the agreed objectives and outcomes.
  • Distribution of the wheat seed, livestock inputs to the targeted beneficiaries.
  • Conduct mobilization meetings with target communities, district government and other stockholders.
  • Document and share case studies, success stories and field visit reports as and when required.
  • He/she will carry out the post distribution, beneficiary’s survey and post harvesting survey in the field.
  • He/she will create Beneficiary’s complaint and feedback committee during distribution, and he/she will give beneficiaries information regarding the targeting criteria, what is being distributed, who is involved (e.g. GoA, FAO, implementing partners, etc.), and how they can contact FAO and/or the implementing partner if they have any feedback.
  • He/she will receipt inputs from FAO and should submit confirmation of inputs receipt on the same day the inputs delivered to the distribution point.
  • He/She will build close partnership with the target communities through regular meetings with them on appropriate intervals.
  • Conflict Resolution of likely disagreements which may emerge because of miscommunication or conflicting interests of interest groups, and timely address them.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required by the line manager and/or overview manager.
  • Facilitate beneficiary selection process for Cash for Work (CfW) through beneficiary profile survey questionnaire designed in Kobo.
  • Provide awareness to the beneficiaries on COVID-19 precautionary measures along the project implementation.
  • Provide support to Engineer on identification of Infrastructure (e.g. water reservoirs, canal cleaning) are rehabilitated/improved in the targeted districts


Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in social science or other related field

Work Experience

At least 3 years’ demonstrable experience in similar role, of which at least two year should be in community development engagement position with national or international organisations.
