About Future Generations Afghanistan:
Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master’s Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building. The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005. Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar, Nuristan, Logar, Wardak, Nimruz, Herat and Kanadahar Provinces
Job Description:
He/ She will work under direct supervision of the Community Facilitator/Project Officer and will conduct the community mobilization process for community engagement for the project as per the project context and will closely work with Community for sensitization and awareness.
Job Requirements:
- Contribute to design and implementation of outreach activities to deliver inputs to outreach community mobilizers.
- Keep the community updated on the Covid-19 outbreak in Afghanistan.
- Connect with and engage individuals and groups who approach societal problems in less conventional ways.
- Connect the mapped initiatives and people with each other and coordinate for their mutual benefit e.g., when more than one group provide the same or complementary services.
- Deliver appropriate training sessions with the use of acceptable teaching methods and materials to the target group’s community.
- Organize and attend all project events (practical training on cooperation between the local government and communities, consultations with communities, mobilization of venerable individuals.
- Hold at least one mobilization session at the community to increase community awareness on covid-19 prevention, communication, personal and environmental sanitation, etc.
- Respond and conform to a flexible activity scheduling, logistical limitations related to public space management, or social dynamics involving the community and its expectations.
- Distributions hygiene kits as per the selected criteria to the target group at the community level.
- Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services.

- Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.
- Raising awareness and mobilizing and engaging community structures and communities in communication activities during diseases outbreak, and health emergencies national/international Campaigns.
- Monitor and supervise the SBC interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities base on the plan SBC and Follow up on the distribution of relevant supplies to households.
- Project reporting Prepare activity report according to the established format and submit it to his/her supervisor.
- Identify the best success stories of SBC interventions, collect testimonies from beneficiaries and submit them to the supervisor for further documentation.
- Close supervision of community and project related activities.
- Plan and organize trainings to community members according to program work plan operational manual.
- Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key actor(s) such as the de-facto authority, CSOs and others.
- Participate in all project related community based trainings and workshops conducted by FGA trainers.
- Overall responsible for the capacity development, trainings and awareness sessions conduction, conflict resolution and liaison with other key stakeholders.
- Facilitation a series of capacity development activities to enhance communities’ basic skills in various aspect of the program.
- Identify the training needs of the community institutions, and report to the supervisor and trainer for arranging training programs in response to these needs.
- Plan activities on weekly, monthly and quarterly base and submit it to supervisor in a regular manner.
- To facilitate the community to plan and prioritize their main concerns with respect to the project manner.
Qualification:
Experience with the National and international organization, Community Governance and Livelihood Project, and community driven development is highly preferred.
