Job Description:
The Senior IM Assistant position in iMMAP Afghanistan will support the information management and analysis activities and tasks related to the technical components of the BHA-funded project, as designated by the IM Coordinator, Technical Advisor, and the Country Representative for Afghanistan.
The Senior IM Assistant, as one of the members of the Information Management Team, will support the relevant IM/GIS Officer/s of the team to assist in the development of cooperative data exchange and create various information products using different mapping and graphic tools.
Additionally, the IM Assoc Senior IM Assistant iate is tasked to support the ReportHub and Humanitarian Spatial Data Center (HSDC) product teams, especially through participation and as a resource person in capacity building activities of the country program related to information management and GIS.
The Senior IM Assistant will support all goals and strategies of the iMMAP Afghanistan Program in its work with national partners, international partners, and applicable donor agencies.
The Senior IM Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Senior IM/GIS Officer and will work in close consultation with other unit members of the iMMAP Country Program and refer to the Country Representative when required.
Job Requirements:
- Work as part of the Information Management (IM) Team to ensure that the support requirements on IM and GIS skills, tools, and services to iMMAP’s partners are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Augment the IM Team members to perform day-to-day technical and non-technical deliverables in their respective duties.
- Support the IM team with the creation of information products/materials, including maps, dashboards, infographics, and presentation/training material as needed.
- Support as an alternate to cluster/working group focal point IM/GIS Officers in maintaining relationships with partners and Government bodies through attendance in meetings and/or follow‐up of e‐mail/phone correspondence if required.
- Assist cluster/working group focal point IM/GIS Officers in planning, delivering, and documenting iMMAP’s core services to partners and performing any other related duties as necessary.
- Always represent iMMAP’s interests and assists in the development of cooperative data exchange and information management networks beneficial to iMMAP by supporting IM Team members in their outreach efforts and communications to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform the cleaning, analysis, and mapping of partner data as required by iMMAP team members (in consultation with the direct supervisor), as well as fulfill reporting requirements for monitoring of work.
- As designated by the direct supervisor, the Senior IM Assistant will assist in capacity building initiatives for iMMAP Partners, requiring expertise as a resource person specific to thematic areas related to IM and/or GIS.
- Adhere to iMMAP branding guidelines for all iMMAP products and correspondences, including required reporting mechanisms set forth by the IM Team and Country Program.
- Work with the iMMAP Country Program to ensure that all support requirements of iMMAP, BHA, OCHA, and other partners are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform any other wide-ranging and ad-hoc IM and GIS tasks as assigned by the supervisor or as instructed.
