ACTED is working in 14 north, northeastern and East & West provinces of Afghanistan. These provinces are affected by natural and man-made disasters. ACTED is providing relief and emergency assistance to the vulnerable population affected by displacements, conflicts or natural disasters, in the field of agriculture, NFI, shelters, WASH and food security

Job Description:

Assignment

Under the supervision of the Country Coordinator and Deputy Country Coordinator, and in coordination with IMPACT HQ, ACTED Afghanistan Program Development Unit, and IMPACT Afghanistan research units,  he/she will be responsible for coordinating program development and reporting (including updating monitoring and evaluation indicators) for IMPACT Afghanistan.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Grants and Project Management
  • Coordinating proposal development process between IMPACT Afghanistan, ACTED Afghanistan, IMPACT HQ and ACTED HQ;
  • Leading on drafting narrative proposals and annexes based on inputs from research units;
  • Leading on drafting grants related project documents (project factsheets, kick-off meetings, etc.)
  • Liaise with FLATS teams to ensure timely submission and coherence between financial and narrative reports;
  • Participate in and take minutes of kick-off and close-out meetings for each project;
  • Tracking contractual obligations for existing grants and ensuring that IMPACT Afghanistan is on track to meet obligations, including updating project development trackers;
  • Under the supervision of the Country Coordinator and Deputy Country Coordinator lead on external communication with donors.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Tracking and updating M&E related trackers;
  • Lead in development and drafting of monitoring and evaluation reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual).

The Program Development Officer will maintain the strictest confidentiality on all data collected and related processes. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of any information and data belonging to IMPACT/ACTED and its partners, or collected during his/her assignment with IMPACT/ACTED.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, English, International Relations etc;
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience such as grants management, reporting officer, communication officer, etc.
  • Fluent English and Dari (written and spoken);
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting required;
  • Relevant experience with program development, monitoring and evaluation, or report writing in English preferred;
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural and cross-country environment requiring flexibility;
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • A self-starter with a strong existing ability to work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Very detail orientated and organized;
  • Ability to multitask with tight reporting deadlines;
  • Familiarity with the aid system, and understanding of donor and governmental requirements, an asset;
