Job Description:

Scope of work:

Under direct supervision of District Manager is responsible for supporting the professional and efficient implementation of field level Rural Development Project activities, capacity building of CDCs and relevant committees, and Business Associations and saving/credit groups. The RD Trainer will maintain close cooperation with the targeted local communities, project technical team and local authorities and line departments, mobilize to take active part in the planning and implementation of activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. The RD Trainer supervises experts of various disciplines in training courses and in other capacity building efforts.
  2. To carry out training needs assessment of RDP field staff, selected community-based organizations and design training and other institutional strengthening activities for these communities-based organizations.
  3. To conduct training needs assessment for all target groups and other relevant assessment for the RD project.
  4. Work closing with community-based organizations, social organizers and local facilitators to ensure on time delivering trainings as per plan and provide training and capacity building technical support during implementation of the projects.
  5. To conduct & deliver all trainings and capacity development related activities as per RDP plan.
  6. Provide critical inputs in planning and review of capacity and learning development initiatives, operationalize capacity and learning development initiatives at district and community levels.
  7. Develop efficient monitoring systems and detect strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities of awareness, capacity and learning development initiatives. Ensure that social organizers and local facilitators take into account such learnings to enhance their methodology.
  8. Develop training materials and facilitate workshops for RD Project staff, stakeholders and target groups.
  9. Develop training modules, conduct, and follow up of trainings related to Livelihood, WASH, DDR, CCA for staff members, district stakeholders and target groups.
  10. Maintain training data (qualitative and quantitative) and do analysis regularly to make sure planned activities and training improve skills and knowledge of the target groups; and
  11. Conduct field visit regularly (at least 60-70 % monthly) and provide with field visit report and reflect points for further improvement, as well as prepare a monthly activity plan and report.

Document lessons learnt from implementation and actively contribute to revision of guidelines and manuals.

  1. Assist project team in the process of community mobilization, selection of vocational trainees and to supervise vocational training centres regularly.
  2. Work closely and provide technical assistance to vocational trainers and trainees to assure the quality of work in the centers
  3. Submit photos and relevant data on the project activities to RDP database responsible person in a timely manner.
  4. Effective communication with project staff to ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities and can successfully perform their duties.
  5. Other related assigned by the line manager

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from recognized college or university in relevant field.

At least 1-2 years of progressive work experience in the similar roles in the field of delivering trainings and capacity development related subjects.

Documented familiarity of Livelihood and Food security, local development, community governance, DRR, NRM and other capacity development activity and delivering trainings at grass root and higher level is preferred.

Have a good supervisor, monitoring, analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Understanding on research and survey methodologies, designing, and implementing Livelihood and food security, DRR and NRM, value chain study and market assessment is required.

Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
