Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) is an independent, non-governmental, non-Profit, non-Political and non-Sectarian Organization working in Afghanistan since 2001 in the areas of health, nutrition, education, development and emergency with an aim at improving livelihoods and alleviating poverty. And JACK had the experiences of working in various provinces and zones of Afghanistan.

JACK registered under the Ministry of Economy with registration number, 316. The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and donor communities.

The mandate of JACK is to improve lives of the people we touch through our programs. We strive to have a community that is empowered, participates in its development and is able to use the resources available to them to get what they want.  We work to assist communities in their efforts that lead them to self- help and in essence self- reliance that comes with economic and social independence.

Job Description:

 Job Purpose

The CBNP project manager is responsible for implementing and supervising the nutrition program on the field in adherence with CBNP’s and national protocols/guidelines and in collaboration with local partners. S/he reports to the head of base.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and oversee the implementation of program that he is responsible for both on-time and within the set technical specifications
  2. Coordination and communication with all partners in province
  3. Plan activities with the support Departments (administrative logistics) according to objectives
  4. Use management activity results and context monitoring tools
  5. Provide support and advice to the logistics base for the purchase of materials specific to its program activities
  6. Assess the relevance of activities the effectiveness of interventions and their appropriateness in light of changing circumstances and the needs of Organization
  7. Propose adjustments to programs if necessary
  8. Ensure the achievement of results of the programs for which is responsible
  9. Anticipate the difficulties associated with conducting CBNP activities and help solve problems related to programs activities
  10. Propose program adaptations according to the changing environment and indicators
  11. In collaboration with the administrative service contribute to the development of program budgets budget follow up and proposal budgets for the program parts


  1. Prepare handover reports before the end of his employment contract and forward them to PM
  2. Work closely with field team for quality reporting to Kabul


  1. Fulfilling recruitment for the national technical staff under PM responsibility
  2. With the administrative/HR departments define the prerequisites for the vacant positions and if necessary adapt the referent job profile.
  3. Welcome and brief new employees working under PM responsibility
  4. Implement training related to operational requirements and the identified training needs
  5. Manage and support the team under PM responsibility
  6. Evaluate the performances of his team members
  7. Identify potential changes in members of team and provide feedback to PM


  1. Write reports and annexes concerning his program for donor reports and/or amendment
  2. Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and guidelines
  3. Maintain operational communication network and positive relations with tall partners and other National international agencies in cooperation with the coordination team
  4. Representation in the meetings or forums concerning the program in his place of employment
  5. Represent Organization on request and/or delegation
  6. Write the administrative documents to be signed (MOU handover…) jointly with governmental authorities communities or partners
  7. Any Other task assign by the line supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Nutritionist MD or any other relevant qualification in health sector.
  • Three Plus years’ experience as a Manager for health project.
  • Experience in nutrition projects will be plus.
  • Good Communication skills
  • Fluent in Dari and Pashtu and working knowledge of English
  • Familiarity with Parwan Province.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, World
