About HRRAC:

Human Rights Research and Advocacy Consortium (HRRAC) is a leading Afghan non-governmental organization. HRRAC has more than a decade of experience in advocating for the rights of the excluded and vulnerable population, and community groups. Essential to HRRAC’s intervention, is the mission to advance the fundamental rights and humanitarian assistances to all people of Afghanistan, particularly, the most excluded groups. HRRAC’s programs are meant to improve livelihood through rural recovery projects, doing researches, evidence-based advocacy, capacity building, and humanitarian intervention in emergencies. HRRAC strives to improve equality, fairness, social justice, and open up economic opportunities to the most deprived communities. HRRAC strongly advocates for the rights of the community’s share in mine revenue, access to justice for all, and meaningful inclusion of women and girls in community development projects.

 

Job Description:

  1. Contribute in program planning and implementation tasks like coordinating project activities with relevant stakeholders, following up on the activities implementation, compiling project reports, arranging meetings, and taking minutes of meetings whenever needed.
  2. Develop training and advocacy materials, translation, and designing of training and awareness materials in three languages.
  3. Provide legal counselling update service mapping referral and follow up of protection cases with relevant service providers.
  4. Represent HRRAC in meetings with the government, civil society, and donor’s.
  5. Establish and maintain effective cooperation and coordination with all HRRAC’s partners and stakeholders to ensure their support for HRRAC’s mission
  6. Contact with community elders, local Shura members and other community influential people in participatory way to operate in very efficient and coordinated manner.
  7. Assess protection needs and community assets to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
  8. Develop concrete strategies / initiatives to reduce these risks involving and building upon assets within the affected population and strengthening the capacity of displaced communities and other vulnerable groups to protect themselves.
  9. Develop and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet the changing needs and requirements of the project.
  10. Ensure that project activities are communicated on time with photos and other evidence for timely dissemination of information through mainstream and social media
  11. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and filed appropriately
  12. Establish and maintain good working relationships with other partner humanitarian agencies and service providers that enhance case referral and transfer.
  13. Document the lessons learned and case studies and share with project staff and other stakeholders.
  14. Ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with the necessary standards such as SPHERE, Guidelines for Case Management and Child Protection, and Minimum Standards etc.
  15. Draft weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the Project manager, summarizing plans and achievements.
  16. Compile information regarding the progress and quality of project implementation, success stories, challenges and changes in behavior or capacity.
  17. Share information about successes and challenges that have been seen in different areas of the programme for lessons learnt and laying out improvement plans.
  18. Perform any other task assigned by the project manager related to the scope of work.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent in social sciences. Specific training in a field relevant to project management will be an asset.
  • At least three to four years of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (Ms. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management system
  • Fluency in oral and written English, Dari, and Pashto
