JOB PURPOSE:

Provision of the maternal and newborn care services to the women in child-bearing ages, in particular for pregnant women and newborn babies in accordance to the key midwifery standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure all mothers are screened with malnutrition and identified cases should be given proper counselling
• Ensure that pregnant mothers receive proper delivery pre-natal care services (ANCs) and family planning in accordance to the IMPAC and other midwifery standards for EOC.
• Participate and lead the meeting with the FHAG.
• Use the HBLSS m-health during the health education sessions.
• Timely refer the complicated cases to the regional hospital for further investigation and appropriate treatment.
• Ensure FHAGs conduct the household visit and receive their monthly household visit date.
• Share monthly consumption report to the project supervisor.
• Submit monthly HMIS report to project supervisor.
• Provide services in case any deliveries perform after official hours.
• Using pantograph for all deliveries perform in the FHH and home.
• Update the ANC, Delivery, PNC Newborn care and FP graph on monthly basis.
• Perform any other duties as required or asked to do by the supervisor.
• Vaccination of mother and children.
• Provision of nutrition services for women and children under five.
• Perform any other related task given by supervisor in MHNT center.
• Provide RMNCH services based on MISP
• Provide psychosocial counselling for women in childbearing ages and improve inter team referral.
• Provide basic new-born care including neonatal resuscitation, thermal care, skin-to-skin contact, eye care.
• Distribute clean delivery kit for pregnant mother and Dignity MISP kit for women at reproductive age
• Ensure that pregnant women receive adequate daily Iron and folic acid tablets
• Give health education on reproductive health issues and information on IYCF for pregnant and lactating women.

Knowledge and experience:

Experience:

• At least one year working in midwifery position.
• Understanding of basic accountability and complaints record mechanism
• Experience working with the rural/urban communities,
• Ability to work with MHNT in health center
• Ability to support other MHNT members if needed
• Communication skills and knowledge of local communities.
• Flexibility for work.
