Job Description:

Job Summary

The medical doctor is responsible for overall management of health facility affairs activities in target province and responsible to diagnose advice and prescribing medicine to patients visiting the health facility. The medical doctor also has to record all patients, diagnoses, referrals, and advises in the registry book and prepares the reports on diseases and treatment, he is responsible for overall HMIS in the health facility. He/She works closely with HF team and provides technical and non-technical assistance to the project team.

 

Job Description

  • Plan weekly and monthly activities of the health facility.
  • Examine and diagnose patients who received the OPD.
  •  Issue prescriptions, referrals, and health advice in agreement to examination and diagnoses.
  • Fill the registry book, in a continuous manner (and while the patient is present), recording all patients. data, diagnosis, prescriptions, referrals, advice, and other facts corresponding to examinations.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of equipment and material in the OPD.
  • Ensure that regular on-job medical training is carried out for health workers of the HF.
  • Closely collaborate with community health workers to strengthen the referral and linkage system with the communities.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with subordinates and guide them on relevant activities.
  • Conduct monthly coordination meetings with Local Health Committee members and CHWs regarding the strengthening of the community health workers.
  • Ensure the proper filling of registration and tally sheet
  • Providing health education
  • Follow up and controlling the staff urgent leave
  • Management of pharmacy
  • To do any other duties assigned by the line supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from medical university (MD)
  • At least 2 years responsible experience in related field.
  • BPHS related training is a plus point
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken) of Dari, Pashto and preferable in English
  • Demonstrated skills in health project management and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to support provincial team and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of planning/organizing/communication skills
