About JACK:

Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) is an independent, non-governmental, non-Profit, non-Political and non-Sectarian Organization working in Afghanistan since 2001 in the areas of health, nutrition, education, development and emergency with an aim at improving livelihoods and alleviating poverty. And JACK had the experiences of working in various provinces and zones of Afghanistan.

JACK registered under the Ministry of Economy with registration number, 316. The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and donor communities.

The mandate of JACK is to improve lives of the people we touch through our programs. We strive to have a community that is empowered, participates in its development and is able to use the resources available to them to get what they want.  We work to assist communities in their efforts that lead them to self- help and in essence self- reliance that comes with economic and social independence.

The Public Nutrition Directorate (PND) has therefore revised the national MIYCN and Nutrition Counsellor (NC) training packages to strengthen the missing areas of maternal nutrition, WASH and food security. The revised MIYCN package focuses on tailored training methods that respond to the needs of doctors, nurses and midwives. With an increased emphasis on adult learning methods, training health staff on revised packages will enable participants to attain essential hands-on experience and develop the skills needed to provide improved nutrition services at their respective health facilities. The aim is to train all relevant BPHS staff (doctors, nurses and midwives) across the country using the revised MIYCN training package. JACK will be implementing the MIYCN capacity development program in Kunduz province

Job Description:

 Job Purpose

Master trainers will be responsible for overall management and implementation of capacity building interventions of SBC project and other related interventions in Faryab province. More over She/he is responsible to generate Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and project reports on capacity building activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Training of Trainers (ToT) in Kabul, and pass the final knowledge and skills assessment after the ToT.
  • Development of a detail training plan for the planned training sessions
  • Manage training schedules, attendance sheets, pre and post-training forms, course evaluations, and certificates.
  • Ensure that all training aids and materials including PowerPoint slides are available and used during training sessions as per the SBC guidelines.
  • Provide a summary report after each session in designated format provided by JACK.
  • He /She shall perform the services diligently and in accordance with the highest professional standards all the times.
  • Report any issues and challenges faced during the provincial trainings on the spot to regional and national coordinator.
  • She/he shall be well prepared before facilitation of each session of training possessing solid command of the technical concepts and skills delivered to participants.
  • Travel within province/districts and organize and conduct training workshops for social mobilizers.
  • Support logistic support and coordination for the training at provincial level
  • Provide on-the-job mentoring, training, and support to social mobilizers.
  • Provide updates and reports to the project manager every week and participate in coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate the training closely with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor trained social mobilizer’s performance in coordination with the project manager and write detailed monitoring reports.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Having diploma in medical field or bachelor’s degree in public health or Nutrition related field from an accredited College/University;
  •  Resident of the Faryab province is preferred;
  • Phenomenal communication presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to rural locations in districts
  • Fluency in written and spoken local language;
  • Prior experience of working in nutrition related programs especially MIYCN
