About TLO:

The Liaison Office (TLO) founded in 2003 as an Afghan non-governmental organization (NGO) that emerged from a Swisspeace pilot project (supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung) with the aim of improving local governance, stability, and security through systematic and institutionalized engagement with customary structures, local communities, civil society groups, and government institutions. TLO is based in Kabul, with regional offices in Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar, and Nangarhar and additional field offices across Afghanistan. TLO works to achieve its objectives through key program activities: research and analysis, dialogue facilitation for peacebuilding, access to justice and governance, humanitarian assistance, third party monitoring and evaluation, and environment & natural resources management. s/he duty station will be Khost field office with regular trips to targated distrit of Khost and Paktia province to the selected watershed and irrigation system improvement projects sites

Job Description:

  • Develop the training materials (presentations, group works and other required documents) based on the needs and requirements. The focus area of the training shall include the following;
    • Sustainable use of natural resources,
    • Investigative journalism,
    • Report writing,
    • Research methodology, and
    • Proposal writing
  • Conduct pre and post-evaluation of the trainees
  • Deliver training based on the approved content and agenda
  • Prepare a completion report of the training program as event reports
  • Provide expert knowledge and answer trainees’ questions and requests for clarification during the training program

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive academic knowledge, preferably lecturing experience in the environment, climate change, natural resource management and extractive sector
  • 2-3 years of general professional experience in environment, natural resources and mine extractions training programs delivery
  • Excellent understanding of the environmental and mining extraction challenges, issues, mitigation measures applied and international best practices
  • Fluency in local languages (Dari/Pashto) is strongly preferred; fluency in English is also required
