Job Description:

This position will be based at Camp Alvarado. Supports and remediates systems and connectivity issues at Terminal 2. Operates State’s SBU Local Area Network (LAN), Internet-only LAN and all other information technology (IT) systems equipment serviced by ISC under the supervision of the Computer Management Specialist. This includes end-user support; installing and configuring computer equipment and software; troubleshooting computer problems; performing system backups and restores; monitoring system availability and performance; end-user training. Ensuring that the LAN responds to specific program needs of State/Program offices.

Job Requirements:


2 years of progressively responsible experience, primarily of systems administration or technical nature where emphasis is place on Help Desk Support.


Must possess a functional knowledge of the IT requirements and information processed by each and every department in the mission. Accurate knowledge of the ISC’s operations and software applications.  Technical knowledge of standard IT procedures in large-sized LAN operations.

Education Requirements:

Two years of college study in a computer field plus one Industry Standard Information Technology certification: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSA, CCNA or CCNP is required.



LANGUAGE:  Level IV English (good working level) – Level IV Dari & Level III Pashto is required.



This may be tested.



Ability to analyze IT problems and follow established procedures and routines. Good interpersonal skills to promote computer and automation services.
