Employment with NRC may lead to employment in or deployment to Regions, Countries, Areas or Offices that may be host to considerable health, safety and security risks. Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the Finance Assistant position is to make cash payments/transfer and cheques to contractors and other payments as stipulated in the contract/agreement(s), Analyse financial information, prepare financial reports, maintain all financial records properly and make cash forecast on monthly basis as per NRC policies and procedures.

Job Description:

Generic Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Ensure proper filing of documents

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for  cash payments/transfer and cheques to contractors, & other payments as stipulated in the contract/agreement(s) & in line with NRC Financial policies and procedures;
  • Analyse financial information and prepare financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles;
  • Maintain all financial records properly (hard copy and soft version);
  • Payment of staff salary payroll, periderm, travel and other allowances;
  • Be responsible to make cash forecast on monthly basis and send to Support office for further processing;
  • Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, including multi-purpose cash assistance, emergency cash responses
  • Prepare vouchers and their supporting documents
  • Assists in the development of the department budget and ensures spending remains within acceptable variances;
  • Maintain and follow supplier, landlord and payroll tax clearing forms;
  • Responsible to introduce new hired staff to bank for account creation;
  • Perform other task assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

Qualification

  • Minimum one year Experience from working as a Finance staff in a humanitarian/recovery context

 

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance/Accounting

 

Language

  • Pashto
  • Dari
  • English (Good knowledge of English with respect to Ready, Writing, Speaking and Understanding)

  •     Monthly Salary based on NRC Afghanistan Salary Scale
  •     NRC will cover staff plus four (4) depended for medical insurance
