HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. HealthNet TPO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions with a focus on: innovative development of health systems, mental health and psychosocial care, long and short term training of health workers, control of communicable diseases (including malaria), and health financing schemes. HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system. HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program,SEHATMANDI projects in four provinces, nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach.
Job Description:
- Follow approved BPHS and CBHC guideline and procedures and promote community based health care.
- Develop operational plan for establishing/strengthening community health care network as per approved plan of action.
- Provide support to and supervise CBHC sub office CBHC officer, CHW trainers and CHSs. Support communities to understand the concept of community based health care, contribute in the site selection, identification and training of CHWs, CHS and organizing community health committees/shuras.
- Coordinate CBHC with MoPH , NGOs and other organization related department/staff and represent AADA in all CBHC related meetings and gathering.
- Plan and implement all CBHC training including initial and Refresher training for to CHWs trainers, CHS and CHWs.
- Participate in CBHC task force meetings regularly.
- Regularly visits health facilities, community network (CHS, health posts, CHWs, committees and shuras), monitor the activities and provide on the spot support. Participate in joint supportive supervision exercises.
- Collect, compile, analyze reports and draft feedback.
- Support pharmacy officer in developing required kit/supply and request and ensure the CHWs are supplied timely and use the kite in a rational manner.
Job Requirements:
- Graduated from recognized Medical Faculty
- At least 2 years’ experience in the relevant field preferably with health NGO
- Good interpersonal communication skill and team working ability
- Fluency in Pashto/Dari and English
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to travel to field
