Job Summary:

Ensure that the design team-related daily/ weekly/ monthly and quarterly works are assigned properly, and carefully check the design of water supply and other projects. Support the Technical & Coordination Unit Manager in the relevant issues

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing the Survey & Destin Team.

Support design engineers in checking the designs, maps, drawings, and bills of quantities of all relevant projects and ensure the network is working properly.

Ensure the water supply and other projects are designed as per the requirements and needs of a site.

Be able to design the solar system in the software and manually.

Follow the Primary Technical Evaluation (PTE) of the solar systems and ensure the products are fulfilling the requirements. And also, participate in the technical evaluation of other technical design-related projects.

Take active participation in the inspection of solar systems and other projects.

Proper checking of the reports received from the site by the Survey & Destin Team.

Make sure the Survey & Destin Team is working according to the plan and prioritizing the urgent works.

Ensure the design, maps and etc. are according to the specifications, donor and project requirements.

Report issues on time to the Technical & Coordination Unit Manager and other relevant Programme staff.

Assist the Technical and Coordination Unit Manager with the relevant technical issues.

Proper planning for the technical surveying of the projects.

Ensure pre technical discussion has taken place among the designers before designing any project and maintain regular cooperation among the designers and other staff in the Technical & Coordination Unit.

Ensure the project design is suitable and cost-effective.

Assist the Manager of the Technical & Coordination Unit, Deputy Director/ Head of program and Operations Manager in preparing technical proposal while needed.

When requires supervise the construction activities at the field level, ensure all technical standards in survey and designing of the construction projects.

Review technical guideline, WASH strategy and support the design team accordingly.

Preparing Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports of the Survey & Design Team and submit to the Technical and Coordination Unit Manager.

The holder of this position must strictly follows the organization existing security policies, procedures and daily instructions of the safety personnel.

Any other task assign by the Technical & Coordination Unit Manager

Job Requirement:

Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits                                               

Education: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (Master degree is preferable).

Experience: 5 year experience in: Survey & designing of different water supply systems, other infrastructures projects and Staff Management.

 

Other qualifications’ an advantage:

Ability in team working, Management skills and ability to properly planning, Organizing and implementing

Good knowledge/practical experience of AutoCAD (2D & 3D), water CAD and ability to use GIS, MS office and also able to use modern survey instruments.

Knowledge of system design on Water GEMS and EPANET (prepare linear maps).

Knowledge of AC&DC power systems for designing on water supply projects.

Languages: Oral and written fluency in(English, Dari, Pashto)
