INTERSOS is an Italian non-profit humanitarian aid organisation that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Established in 1992 , its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected. INTERSOS is an independent association which, through its own humanitarian operators, intervenes to effectively answer the needs of people in serious crises situations, mainly in the world’s poorest regions, who are suffering, deprived of rights, dignity and essentials goods. It maintains a flexible operating structure.
The centrality of human being is the key principle underpinning all INTERSOS’ values and interventions, and underlines the importance of the principles of equality, justice, peace, solidarity, and the duty of every human being to help all those in need or distress, without influence of any kind.
To respond adequately to emerging needs and challenges in Afghanistan, INTERSOS seeks to establish an emergency roster to ensure access to a pool of professionally qualified, gender-balanced and highly motivated candidates to fill emergency positions in a timely manner, or regular positions during transitions. The team includes:
Medical Doctors (General Practitioners)
It also includes specialists who focus on protection, prevention of sexual violence and aid for rape survivors and mental health. The positions are pending based on the need and available funding and that would be activated on call.
The selected Rapid Response Team (RRT) members will always be on standby to deploy to a crisis within 72 hours to new areas or lending support to INTERSOS teams already on the ground. INTERSOS will maintain a roster of RRT members / specialists who have been interviewed and have completed pre-deployment paperwork, and/ or orientation and training. The roster will be updated on regular basis as new responders are identified and members update their areas of expertise and other relevant information.
