BRAC Afghanistan is seeking applications from highly qualified and experienced Afghan Nationals for an anticipated project (Phase 2 of ABADEI) for the following positions based in 14 provinces (Kabul, Bamyan, Daikondi, Ghor, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Balkh, Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pol, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kunduz and Takhar).
Job Summary
- Provide support to the team to work effectively to bring changes in livelihood status of the vulnerable project participants and support the team in developing vocational and entrepreneurial skills, adapting to the needs of the local markets, and supporting business incubation, particularly targeting women. He/ She will ensure transparency in grant or input support to participants to facilitate the opening of businesses or entering wage or self-employment and he will work to facilitate women-led/managed businesses and provide support to women entrepreneurs created and or improved as a result of the project interventions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and strengthen the relation with relevant stakeholder (Govt institutions and NGOs) to successfully implement the targeted activities in field.
- Support the team to conduct a need analysis and market assessment in each target district to identify relevant trades or occupations that are in demand among target groups in the community.
- Monitor the process of TVET trainings that will be offered to the project participants in the targeted areas/districts.
- Provide technical support in the identification process of the potential project participants who are currently not in any form of wage or self-employment and will be matched to their preferred trades and enroll them into the vocational training component.
- Support the team during the selection of participants, prioritizing the involvement of women and other vulnerable groups, with a target of 100% female participants.
- Provide support and conduct training for field staff on safeguarding issues.
- Follow up the process of stipend or providing input support for those participants who successfully complete the training to support them with the starting up of their self- or wage employment.
- Ensure regular coordination with M&E team to find out the gap /deviation for on time correction and decision in order to achieve project objective successfully
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Requirements
• Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari, both written and spoken
• Honest, proactive, and well mannered.
• Experience of working in teams and coordinating with project/Programme personnel located in provinces and Districts
• Must be a team player with initiative and demonstrated ability to work in a challenging work environment;
• Strong work ethic and the ability to interact well with stakeholders at various levels; and
• Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
• Good organizational, communication, interpersonal
