The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization working in Bosnia and Herzegovina to support vulnerable refugees and migrants in the cantons of Yunasana, Mostar and Sarajevo.
DRC is active in two key areas:
Medical and health care
Since the beginning of 2019, DRC has been responsible for providing primary health care and a limited amount of secondary health care services in a number of reception centers (but not all reception centers). In the Canton of Jonasna, these are: BIRA TRC, Miral TRC, SEDRA TRC and TRIC Borići. In Sarajevo, this includes TRC Ušivak. Medical teams regularly visit each of these locations, where they can examine you and refer you to a hospital if necessary.
Support: DRC has employees who work to prevent, reduce / eliminate risks and consequences of violence, threats and coercion, deliberate deprivation and abuse of individuals, groups and communities. In particular, DRC staff are present in most reception centers but also work in other areas where refugees and immigrants gather. Employees in these locations send vulnerable services directly to immigrants who need special services directly, or, if necessary, send them elsewhere. Among other things, DRC:
